Richfield Christian Church in 1855. Among the offices Pliny held were the
following:
-Co. Supt. of Schools, 3 years; -Deputy Supt., 3 years; -Postmaster of Richfield Township, 10 years Pliny Lathrop was always greatly interested in religious work and contributed much money and effort to that cause, U.C. College found in him a friend. His favorite saying was: "I want to so live that the world will be none the worse for my lived here." His religion though spirtiual and exalted was thoroughly practical. On July 7, 1881 Mr. Lathrop started with a companion to visit Ohio, New York, Massachusetts and Vermont (his birthplace).
